Dark Side of the Moon: A Tribute
Saturday 3rd June
7:30 pm – 11:00 pm
Storey's Field Centre, Eddington, Cambridge
The Dark Side Anniversary Ensemble present Dark Side of the Moon. Join us for a one-off coming together of local and national, professional and semi-professional musicians, all devoted Pink Floyd fans to witness Dark Side of the Moon performed in its entirety, and maybe one or two other favourites thrown in.
As the name suggests, The Dark Side Anniversary Ensemble have come together for the very specific purpose of celebrating a great album in its 50th year, in the very city of its creators’ origin.
Keyboard player and organiser Matt first had the idea to stage such an event when the album was a youthful forty years old and well, one day he found that ten years had got behind him, and so the idea was reborn for the album’s half century.
The 8 strong band, a group of professional and semi-professional musicians with various links to the Cambridge area, all share a love for the music of Pink Floyd, and hope to stage a loving tribute to a great album.
The core band have been making music together for years in function bands and other musical projects, in some cases since their school days.
They will be joined on stage by sax player Nik Coley and vocalist Jai-Jae St. Leger.
The show will feature art-works produced especially for the event by year 1 Visual Communication students from Cambridge Regional College under the expert tutelage of Abner Fraser. CRC is an institution close to the hearts of some of the band members as ex-students and staff, so we are thrilled to have them involved.
