The Wonderful Wizard of Oz! Panto at The Cresset

The Cresset Theatre, Peterborough are delighted to present their pantomime for 2023 – The Wonderful Wizard of Oz!

This magical tale has already captured the imagination of millions, so join Dorothy and Toto on the original road trip as they make their way to Oz, meeting some familiar friends along the way!

Headlining this year’s cast is the fabulous Cheryl Fergison as the Good Witch Glinda! Cheryl is best known as the much-loved long-running character of Heather Trott in Eastenders! Star of both stage and screen, she has appeared in numerous tv shows including Doctor Who, Little Britain, The IT Crowd and Casualty, and her theatre credits include Dance With Death, Menopause The Musical, Chicago, and several tours of The Wizard Of Oz!

Returning to The Cresset after 10 years is David McClelland as The Tin Man! He was last at the theatre back in 2013 in Beauty & The Beast. ‘TV’s Top Gadget Guru’ David McClelland is a familiar face on British television screens, starring in BBC1's Rip Off Britain, CBBC Newsround, BBC Right On The Money, Steph’s Packed Lunch, Crimewatch Live, Watchdog & The One Show. Whilst best known for his work on TV, David has a passion for the stage; his credits include; Grimm's Tales, Blood Brothers, Much Ado About Nothing, and The Blue Room

Also returning this year is Andrew Crawford as The Scarecrow! Andrew played The Beast in 2021's panto Beauty and The Beast.

Also returning this year are Cresset favourites Victoria Jane and George Dee. VIctoria spends the rest of the year touring with stage show 'Arrival - The Hits of Abba' as Frida, but loves Panto and was quick to sign for this year's production.  As for George, this is his sixteenth panto with The Cresset!

Completing the cast this year is Edward Simpson, who regulars will remember as the Dame in last year's pantomime, and Katie Paine, who star as the cowardly lion and the wicket witch respectively.

The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz runs at The Cresset Theatre from 14th to 31st December. Tickets are priced from just £16.50 with group offers available.
