The U's are trying to get the most signatures on a piece of sports memorabilia.
It's after a giant shirt was gifted to the Club by U’s supporter Nigel Fletcher, of International Sports Convention.
Running until the end of November, they want to beat the the existing Guiness World Record of 2,089 signatures.
That's held by Kawasaki Frontale of Japan, by using a 40XL home shirt to obtain signatures at multiple events throughout the city.
Supporters have the opportunity to sign the giant shirt at both the Wigan Athletic and Burton Albion home games later this month, where it will be located behind the new Club Shop for signing ahead of kick off.
Cambridge United CEO Alex Tunbridge:
"Undertaking the record attempt provides us with an opportunity to engage with new people and demographics within our city.
We intend to use the attempt to engage with schools, businesses and other community organisations, allowing them to participate in the record attempt and learn about the football club".
