Cambridge University Unveils Lettuce-Harvesting Robot

What's believed to be the first robot that can harvest iceberg lettuce has been designed by engineers at Cambridge University. 


The vegetable's resisted automation because they grow so close to the ground and are vulnerable to crushing.

Researchers say their Vegebot uses a unique cutting system to solve the problem - but it's still nowhere near as fast as a human.
