Manhunt for Ely paedophile "on the run"

A paedophile from Ely is wanted after failing to attend his sentencing to three years in jail.

Hilmi Kisacik, 44, was convicted of sexual offences after speaking with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl on Facebook Messenger between 3 March and 21 April 2024.

The person was in fact a decoy from an online child activist group.

Despite being told the decoy was a 14-year-old girl, Kisacik sent inappropriate photos of himself and others, encouraged the decoy to touch herself inappropriately and asked her for photographs of herself.

PC Shane O’Brien, Cambridgeshire Police:

"Although Kisacik didn’t speak to a real 14-year-old girl, the intent to incite a child to engage in sexually activity was still there.

"Protect children from paedophiles is a force priority and I would urge anyone who knows of this man’s whereabouts to contact police."

On Friday 22 November 2024, at Cambridge Crown Court, Kisacik, of Fore Hill in Ely, was jailed for 32 months in his absence, having been found guilty of two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause/incite a girl to engage in sexual activity.

A warrant is now out for his arrest.
