Appeal After Crash Leaves Cyclist In Critical Condition

A cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after being involved in a collision in Cambridge this week where a car driver failed to stop at the scene.

At about 5.30pm on Wednesday (26 January) the 31-year-old man was cycling along Water Lane when the collision took place.

The car, which was described as silver and potentially an Audi, did not stop at the scene.

The cyclist was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for treatment, where he remains in a critical condition.

Sergeant Aaron Murphy said: "This was a serious collision, which has left a man in a critical condition in hospital.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision, or who might have relevant dashcam footage, to contact us as a matter of urgency.

“I would also urge the driver of the car to do the right thing and get in touch.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact police via their web chat service or by calling 101.
