New Year Honours 2021: Cambridgeshire Heroes Celebrated 

The New Year Honours 2021 list has been announced and Cambridgeshire and the surrounding area is well represented.

Newmarket Grand National Winner Bob Champion MBE is recognised for his work with the Bob Champion Cancer Trust becoming a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

Amanda and John Romain (pictured) from Saffron Walden both receive MBE awards after they set up the NHS Spitfire Project as part of the Clap for Carers campaign for NHS workers during the height of the pandemic.

The list also includes Norah Al-Ani, director of the Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre who is recognised with an MBE for services to Social Justice and to Gender Equality as well as more than ten people who contributed to the community during the Covid-19 pandemic in Cambridgeshire.
