Record numbers hit the Cambridge Beer Festival

The 44th Cambridge Beer Festival opened on Monday and they've seen record breaking numbers through the door.

The festival has now become one of the largest beer festivals across the UK. They stock over 200 beers, 80 ciders and perries, 100 foreign beers, mead and wine from around the UK.

On it’s opening night they saw over 4,000 people through the doors and yesterday that number increased to nearly 8,000 in attendance, which amounted to nearly 14,000 pints of beer!

We caught up with Simon, the man behind Simon's Cider, at the festival who had this to say:

“This year's festival looks like breaking all the records, cider sales on Tuesday were the best for a Tuesday EVER! The weather has been fantastic and looks set to continue.”

This week Cambridge has seen highs of over 20 degrees, which is set to continue into the weekend and will no doubt result in more record breaking numbers through the door.
