Appeal after robbery in Horningsea

POLICE are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed in his home.

POLICE are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed in his home.

The victim, who is in his 60s, was in his home in Priory Road, Horningsea, at around 6pm yesterday (Thursday, January 26) when three men burst into his home.

One of the men pushed to a bedroom and held him down on a bed while assaulting him while the other offenders searched the property. It is believed the offenders made off with cash.

The victim believes one of the offenders, who spoke with and Irish accent and is described white, in his 30s, around 6' tall, powerfully built and wearing a dark hooded top, had visited his home earlier in the week.

The second offender is described as around 5'7”, in his early 20s, with a black afro hairstyle and stubble. The victim was unable to give a description of the third offender.

Detective Constable Ian Butcher said: “This was a nasty attack in the victim’s own home and the thieves made off with very little.

“We are keen to hear from anyone in the area who may have seen anything suspicious.”

Anyone with information should call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
