Appeal following series of burglaries including Histon

POLICE are seeking information following a series of burglaries that took place in the early hours of yesterday morning (Thursday, January 26).

POLICE are seeking information following a series of burglaries that took place in the early hours of yesterday morning (Thursday, January 26).

The first of the offences took place at a bookmakers in High Street, Histon, at around 1am. Offenders broke into the premises, causing damage to the door and a fruit machine, and searched in the area of the safe but left empty handed.

The second offence took place at around 1.25am at a golf club in Toft Road, Bourn. Offenders smashed a window and gained entry to a bar area and store room where they stole the till draw and a safe.

At around 1.45am offenders broke a large window at a Tesco in Kester Way, St Neots, causing several thousand pounds worth of damage before stealing some energy drinks.

At around 2am a business in Chequers Lane, Papwoth Everard, was targeted. Offenders made off with cash from the tills and fruit machines.

Officers are keen to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV image in connection with the incidents.

Detective Constable Martyn Willis said: “We in the early stages of our investigation but we believe that these burglaries may have been carried by the same group of people.

“We are keen to hear from anyone with any information about any of these incidents.”
